HGA addresses Deputy President Mr. David Mabuza at the Union Buildings - January 2019

Project manager, Dylan Weyer, accompanied a group of commercial farmers from southern KZN to the Union Buildings earlier this month and was given the opportunity to share what commercial farmers in the Harry Gwala District Municipality are doing to uplift aspiring farmers. The visiting group’s objective was to be assigned a person in the top tiers of government who can help lower the barriers that commercial farmers encounter when wanting to establish projects with aspiring farmers. We sought also to reinforce the message that Kwanalu and AgriSA have resolutely brought, of a region of commercial farmers who are willing and able to make land reform work in South Africa for the benefit of all. The presentations were very well received and subsequent meetings were called for by the office of the Deputy President and held in the Midlands thereafter. We trust that a meaningful relationship will soon be established with the relevant individuals within government who have the decision-making power to facilitate agricultural transformation in our country.
